1. What is Top Sites and how
does it work?
Top Sites (Rank Master) is a CGI (Common Gateway
Interface) script that was developed to maintain
a Top Sites list(s) sorted either by the number
of votes, average rating or the total score. One
of the advantages of the script is that it generates
the Top List in HTML format, rather than generating
it "on-the-fly", thus, taking the server
resource load to a minimum. RankMaster is available
as freeware and there is also a commercial version
that adds more features and functionality.

2. What is the "Score"?
The Score combines both the number of votes
and the average rating to measure the site popularity.
It is derived using the following formula: SCORE
= (NUMBER OF VOTES) X (AVERAGE
RATING).

but it is updated every period of time that
is set by the script administrator. You will
be able to see your vote with the next update.
The time of last update is shown at the top
of the list.

6. Why are all the votes
reset to 0 after a certain period of time?
The list can be reset every period of time,
determined by the script administrator. This,
sometimes, allows the newer sites to catch up
with the "veteran" list members and
draws a more fair picture of websites ratings.

7. Why when I enter HTML
tags in the signup form, they do not appear
as HTML?
The script automatically filters any HTML tags
that are inserted in the signup and update forms.
This is done for security reasons to make sure
that no one will mess up the top list by inserting
malicious HTML or JavaScript code.

appear on the top list even though I signed
up and I have more than 0 votes?
